Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of a Nursing School/Program (RN)
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing
- Current unencumbered CA Registered Nursing License
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Two years of related leadership experience
- Five years Medical Surgical or Acute Rehab Nursing experience
- Demonstrated clinical competence and positive leadership skills
- Demonstrated complex problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer service focus
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Masters of Science Degree in Nursing
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment managing an 18 bed Rehabilitation and 12 bed Acute Medical/Surgical Inpatient Nursing Unit. The Manager Rehab Nursing is responsible for the coordination of patient care delivery, daily operations and managing a staff of 65 employees. Responsible for maintaining quality patient care, meeting regulatory requirements, and improving nursing practice and clinical outcomes through the use of clinical expertise. Supervises staff including hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and assuring that performance appraisals are completed on time. Manages operations in accordance with established standards of practice, policy, and regulatory requirements. Participates in budget development as needed and maintains a budget consistent with hospital goals and objectives. Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff, and other healthcare team members to facilitate program goals and outcomes. Demonstrates strong team building skills and effectively institutes change supporting unit, level of care, and organizational goals. Consistently communicates in a positive and timely manner with staff members, Sharp employees, physicians, patients and visitors
Physical Rehab is a 30 bed Inpatient Acute Physical Rehabilitation and Medical/Surgical Unit serving a variety of patient populations including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multi medical diagnosis patients and some surgical patients. This position requires a positive enthusiastic individual willing to be part of a dynamic team.
